The Annual Ace Cafe Xmas Toy Run 2007

Once again the BikeSafe-LondonNorth Team were happy to assist several Santas, Reindeers, a Christmas Tree and even Spiderman take presents to sick children across the Capital.

The Annual Ace Café Toy Run, organised by 'Big Ron' was attended this year by 245 bikes and nearly 300 people dressed in all manner of Christmas apparel. Riders and pillions alike had spent time and effort dressing their machines with wrapping paper, tinsel, baubles and fake fur.

It made a fantastic sight as the BikeSafe-London Team escorted them to the Central Middlesex, St Mary's Paddington and St Thomas' Hospitals.

Minimum disruption was caused to the public, who as usual, were very supportive. Kids and adults alike stopped and waved, motorists beeped their horns and I am sure there were many aching arms due to the constant waving by the participants.

The reason, as usual, for the ride was to hand out all sorts of presents collected by the generous riders to children who are unfortunate enough to have to spend the Christmas period in hospital. We were joined this year by Pudsey Bear who went down a storm with all the kids he met.

Following the ride, Ron presented the team with four bags of gifts that we then passed on to the Noah's Ark Hospice in Hertfordshire so that they could distribute them to more needy kids.

We thoroughly enjoy this 'duty' and look forward to Christmas 2008 when we can do it all again.
