Travelling North

1. Enter the service area by the second exit north bound from the M1.
2. Follow the slip road to the top.
3. Bear to the left.
4. As the road bears left there is an entrance road on the right where a sign says 'no unauthorised access'. Turn right there and enter the car park directly on the right.
5. Look for the large radio mast.

Travelling South

1. Enter the service area by the exit to the services south bound.
2. Follow the slip road to the top as it crosses over the motorway.
3. At the junction turn right.
4. As the road bears left there is an entrance road on the right where a sign says 'no unauthorised access'. Turn right there and enter the car park directly on the right.
5. Look for the large radio mast.

For traffic NOT permitted to use the Motorway network

1. At Apex Corner round about, where the A1 meets the A41 look for the petrol station.
2. Beside the petrol station as you go onto the A1 northbound, you will see Ellesmere Avenue.
3. Turn left into Ellesmere Avenue; Follow the road down the hill.
4. At the bottom of the hill on the left you will see an entrance (marked 'no entry to unauthorised traffic') that passes under the motorway.
5. Turn left there and follow the road, go round the ground barriers (do not go over them) and past the services (on your right).
6. Continue past the petrol station (on your right) and up the hill. As the road bears right there is an entrance road on the left where a sign says 'no unauthorised access'. Turn left there and enter the car park directly on the right.
7. Look for the radio mast.
