Finally...
Did you see the article in SuperBike magazine about BikeSafe-London? Tom Scola came on a BikeSafe-London day in May and then wrote about his experience. We always worry about what a journalist is going to say; whilst we have every confidence in our scheme journalists can be a fickle bunch.
Matt one of our BikeSafe-London officers picked out Tom in the car park immediately. Matt went over to Tom and introduced himself, Tom said, "How did you know who I was"? Matt replied, "It was the white boots"! To which they both laughed. Tom was a really nice guy who clearly had a good day, his write up covered two pages in the magazine and I found it an amusing and well written piece. He used a bit of poetic licence, we did not eat doughnuts all day and he referred to Transport for London (TfL) as Training for London, that didn't go down too well when you consider they pay for the scheme. But it was a very positive piece, he commented, as most people who come on our day do, that in reality we are all just normal motorcyclists trying to keep other motorcyclists safe. I am pleased that is how we are perceived as that is how we all feel.
That's it for this quarter; we will try to produce a newsletter at least every three months to keep you posted on developments. Please feel free to respond with any comments or questions, my email address is on the website. But remember to check out the competition.
